What is MIA FemTech?MIA (Minimally Invasive Augmentation) FemTech is an innovative breast enhancement technique using small Motiva® implants inserted through a tiny 2.5 cm incision. This minimally invasive approach causes little tissue disruption, leaves virtually no breast scar, and offers natural‑looking results with a quick, 15‑minute procedure and fast recovery.
-
How are MIA and Preservè different?MIA and Preservé are both minimally invasive breast augmentation techniques, but they differ in incision location and approach. MIA uses a tiny 2.5 cm incision in the upper breast fold to insert a small Motiva® implant using a special FemTech delivery tool. Preservé uses a 2 - 3 cm incision in the inframammary fold and a patented surgical technique that preserves blood supply and breast tissue. Both methods aim to minimise tissue trauma, shorten recovery time and deliver natural‑looking results.
-
How long do the procedures take?MIA: Around 15‑20 minutes. The FemTech delivery system allows a small Motiva® implant to be inserted quickly through a tiny incision, often under local anaesthetic with sedation. Preservé: Around 45 minutes. This technique takes slightly longer because it preserves blood supply and breast tissue, but it’s still much faster than traditional augmentation. Both procedures are performed as day cases and most patients return home the same day.
-
Which implants do you use?We use Motiva Ergonomix2® implants for both MIA and Preservé procedures. These soft, adaptive silicone implants move naturally with your body and are inserted using innovative delivery tools to minimise trauma. Motiva’s advanced materials reduce the risk of complications and deliver a natural look and feel.
-
How long do the procedures take?MIA: Typically 30 minutes thanks to the minimally invasive FemTech™ method using a 2.5cm incision and Motiva diamond implants. Preservé: Around 30-45 minutes. This technique uses a very small incision (2-3cm) and ensures tissue and blood supply preservation, still significantly shorter than conventional augmentation. Both are day‑case procedures that can be done under local anaesthetic with sedation or a general anaesthetic, both have minimal trauma, allowing you to return home the same day and enjoy a much faster recovery within days.
-
When can I resume work or exercise? Most patients can return to desk work and light daily activities within 2–5 days. Light exercise such as walking or gentle cardio can resume after 2-3 weeks. Strenuous workouts, weight training or high‑impact sports should wait until 6 weeks. Always follow Dr Arnaout’s personalised post‑operative instructions to ensure optimal healing and results.
